This comprehensive training day is designed to equip health and social care staff with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to better support autistic individuals. It addresses the critical intersection of autism and mental health, providing a deeper understanding of co-occurring conditions and the unique challenges faced by autistic people. Our goal is to foster a more person-centered, empathetic, and effective approach to care that can lead to improved outcomes and a reduction in mental health crises. This training is ideal for all health and social care professionals, including but not limited to nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, social workers, support staff, and mental health professionals. The workshop is aligned to Qualifications and Credit Framework LD310.

Whether you work with autistic children, young people or adults there’s a workshop for your organisation. Our training workshops can cover autism across the life span and across the spectrum. How do I book?
You can book a whole day, in-service workshop for your team at £865 + VAT for up to 25 learners. Click 'Book a workshop' above.
We can also provide half day face to face, or shorter workshops live online via Zoom. Email us for details.
We work with you to determine the learning needs of your team and adapt our interactive workshops accordingly.
Whatever workshop you chose we guarantee that your training will be delivered by an experienced, skilled trainer.
We can help with evaluating the effectiveness of the training and give you a report based on both the experiences of your learners and the trainer.
If you want certificates of attendance - we do those too!

- Recognize and Understand Co-occurrence: Identify the high prevalence of mental health conditions in autistic individuals and understand the contributing factors.
- Improve Communication and Interaction: Employ communication strategies that are effective and supportive for autistic individuals, respecting diverse communication needs.
- Develop Person-Centered Care Plans: Apply person-centered principles to create and implement care and support plans that account for sensory, social, and emotional needs.
- Identify Common Challenges: Understand how common experiences like masking, burnout, and sensory overload can impact mental health.
- Enhance Crisis Intervention Skills: Learn how to de-escalate situations and provide calm, effective support during a mental health crisis.
- Connect to Resources: Identify and signpost relevant local and national resources for both autistic individuals and their families.
