Complete your Personal Learning Plan
The Personal Learning Plan will help you build a picture of areas of autism knowledge and skill that you're comfortable with, and areas that need some more work.
The Plan asks you to think about what it takes to support children and young people with autism and asks you to measure yourself against eleven areas of knowledge or 'competence'.
Tips: Have a good think first. Look carefully at the scoring system. Be honest.

🗣 You should schedule a meeting with your supervisor and maybe your learning buddy* too. He or she will discuss with you what help and support you will need to complete The Autism Workroom. It’s a good idea to set some timescales too.
Some pointers:-
You should prepare well and so should your supervisor
Take each activity one at a time. Break things down into bite size pieces of learning/activity
Be honest - if you don’t understand something or know you will struggle, say so
Be realistic. It’s better to take your time and really get maximum learning value from each activity in the Workroom
Discuss the things that will help you succeed with the Workroom and things that could get in the way. Make notes!
* Just a reminder -
There are three levels of support for learners. We encourage organisations who are providing The Autism Workroom to their staff to appoint:-
A learning buddy (an ordinary colleague who is doing/has done the programme)
A supervisor (who may also be their line manager)
If additional support or advice is needed learners/supervisors can also contact The Autism Workroom autismworkroom@gmail.com
